Description:

Bust of Felix Edmundovich Dzerzhinsky, after whom the Dzerzhinsky Commune was named, and whose initials became the name of the FED camera. Founder of the Soviet Cheka secret police, later the KGB, Dzerzhinsky lived from 1923–1926. Weighing more than 3 1/2-pounds, this bust was cast from aluminum by Russian sculptor Nikolay Akimovich Teplov (1923−1984). On the bust, Dzerzhinsky wears the Soviet Order of the Red Banner of Labor. Also included is a copy of the History of Photography Quarterly (Vol. 3, Num. 2, April 1979) with an article regarding Dzerzhinsky written by Oscar Fricke. Condition: Excellent ++
